I have said this time and time again… and i will continue to say it cuz what we have gone thru with my MIL. You need to make sure that when your parents that are getting older, have all the proper paper work in line and up to date. Everything needs to be in order in case something like dementia. Its a nasty disease and its not fun to watch it take the one that you love from you, slowly. It is hard to watch or even talk to my MIL now, she just sits and mumbles or has conversations with herself. There was a day that we were showing her pics of the boys and she like started crying cuz she couldnt remember the boys. She didnt remember seeing them in the NICU shortly after they were born. It was the longest 10 min there was cause every 3 minutes she would ask use the same question over and over. I know in time we are going to have to do funeral planning, and that is going to be the hardest thing we have to do and it will not be pleasant. It will be hard for my husband cuz she is all he has left besides me and the boys.
Please get all papers together even for yourself to make things easier in the future.
I along with a bunch of other people im sure are going on line and searching for prices. Alot of people need to have medical insurance and have been searching for prices. But the big thing that everyone forgets is getting alife insurance quote. This is very important to all later in life. We have gone thru this currently with my MIL. Word of advice please make sure that your parents have all paper work in line before something serious happens.
We are going thru a rough time and i hope that when everything is said and done that we come out on top, and i know its going to take a while. Everyone tells you that your credit control every aspect of your life, this statement is so damn true.
My MIL has dementia.. and as the days go on its getting worse. She is currently in a nursing home being taken care of. Before she started getting worse we tried getting her to give her only son POA for her so that we can make the major decisions for her and her future. She made every excuse there was not to do it. So as of today and cuz of his credit he is in control of her medical aspects. He went to court this morning and she was appointed a legal guardian, and even thro its early on but I don’t like her, but its early on so i’m going to give it a chance. There is alot in the back story, that I’m not going into right now, but the other perosn involved will get what they deserve. I need a vacation… looking into Outer Banks rentals is sounding good.
